Coaching and Mentoring

I have always enjoyed helping others and seeing them succeed. From setting up a “classroom” for stuffed animals as a 4 year old to working with entrepreneurs on realizing their passion projects in my 40s, I know this drive in myself.

I also recognize that the workplace, life, and society are becoming increasingly complex. We deal with these complexities in different ways, but there is increasing pressure on individuals to manage this process. Finding a good starting point and then creating the time needed to get started (who can “create” time?!) is challenging and difficult for most people. It can be particularly frustrating when you look for coaching and mentoring and it is sort of “okay” or feels like a time sink. This was my experience when I sought coaching at different points in my life, and it is not what I want for the people I work with.

I had a profound experience with the Coretalents — I worked with a remarkably exceptional coach who led me through the process. It cut down significantly on exploratory exercises and got right to describing who I was and, most importantly, what gives and takes energy from me. I was able to implement aspects immediately in my personal and professional life.

Building on this experience, I spent a year training with Coretalents in the Netherlands to become the first native English speaker certified as a Coretalents Analyst. I use the method to bring a well-vetted framework to my coaching because it provides a deep, personal understanding of your authentic self and helps to distinguish between being trained or good at something vs what gives energy and is sustainable.

Personal Background

I am originally from the US, and I am currently living in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. I was identified as twice exceptional (2e) a few years ago. This discovery as an adult has all sort of challenges. I have been on a journey to understand myself better and live more authentically. My experience steered me towards doing more of what I enjoy and gives me energy: supporting and helping others achieve their goals.

I have a varied educational background and I find that this helps me better understand the nuances of different contexts of work (and work-life). I have degrees in Biophysics (BA), Law (JD/LLM), and Business (MBA and PhD). I teach at all levels of the University, from undergrad to PhD seminars, internships to Executive MBA.
